Interesting enough, I noticed the last blog post I did was a year and a half ago. Apparently something struck me back then that I needed to get my health in check...I guess that was the start of it. And like many things, that thought only lasted a short while, hence no further blog updates. Well, that really isn't why the blog stopped....I just forgot about it actually. But now I'm back! I don't know about you, but I'm excited to be back. This gives me a chance to "speak" to anyone and everyone who reads this. Or no one at all. But it's all good - it makes me feel better and is some "relief" to me from the daily stresses.
Ok, enough blabbering - time to get to my first post of 2014.
Ahem.
Blank stare
Tick, tock....
AH HA!!! Got it!!!
Typically the new year starts off with people making "resolutions" or "goals" or "insert whatever name you want to call it for doing something differently here." And one of those for most people is to lose weight (#1 in 2014) or get or stay in shape (#5). (See full list here.) Most of the time it starts with a gym offering free service for a few weeks or no sign up fee to get you in and then, because 92% of those who make those resolutions don't keep them, the gyms and other places now are getting your money month after month because, while you have only been 3 times in 3 months, you "will get back in there just as soon as...."
I'm guilty of it. We all are.
But now....for those of you who have been following my story, you know that last year was a year of transformation for me. If you don't know my story, you can get the run down on my website. For starters, my MINDSET changed. I KNEW I needed to do something about my health. The difference between last year and all the other years is that I ACTED on. I said I needed to do something and I DID IT! And guess what. I feel GREAT!!! And guess what else. I plan to only keep getting better!
Over the past few days, I've been confronted with comments/messages/inquiries wanting to know what or why I did what I did, why I chose AdvoCare over 'XYZ' company or product, and more than anything else, "You know you can get everything you're getting from 'those products' if you just eat better or exercise."
So, I figured I would just take a moment and explain the Top 5 of "why" I did, and am doing, what I'm doing.... :-)
So, I figured I would just take a moment and explain the Top 5 of "why" I did, and am doing, what I'm doing.... :-)
#5 - sound, established company founded on principals I value
#4 - products are independently tested and clean enough for pro athletes to take meaning I don't have to be an expert or worry about "what's in the products"
#3 - my body is my body and because I only have one, I will use what I feel good about putting in my body :-)
#2 - it is NOT...I repeat NOT...a quick weight loss program or fad diet. It is a company with products designed to help supplement a healthy lifestyle. It also stresses the importance of a proper diet, exercise, and water intake. It's a LIFESTYLE change.
#1 - it WORKS for me :-) (I've been on the products almost exactly a year now and have KEPT my weight off and have stayed full of energy!)
And while I can also get anywhere I need to get by walking, I choose to take a car or plane. Ya know? ;-)
I have many friends who are doing other products and some who do none at all and my appreciation and admiration for what they are doing is exactly the same as my friends who are doing AdvoCare. As I've told everyone who has questioned what I'm doing, "if something is working for you, GREAT!"
When I see success stories of people fitting into clothes they haven't fit in in years or have energy to play with their kids when they get home from work, or for the few who decide to pursue the business hard who are able to leave a corporate job where they haven't gotten a raise in 5 years and made more in 6 months doing direct sales than they did in 2 years at a 8-5 job, or have freedom to spend time with their kids....I GET EXCITED!!! I get PUMPED!!! Regardless of HOW they did it.
So, as much as I wish I could personally talk to everyone who has asked the above, I hope this helps. My wish for you in 2014, should you have that fire burning inside saying "I need a new start" or "it's time for a change," is that you'll act on it. Take baby steps - do something. If you want to learn more about AdvoCare or what I'm doing, by all means, reach out to me. I will be glad to help. More importantly, I'd be honored to hear what your goals are and see how I can help. If AdvoCare is a part of that, great. If not, great!
So if you've made it this far, thanks for sticking it out! Here's to a spectacular 2014!!!
